Artificial intelligence is no longer at the edges of business; it’s right at the center.

AI is transforming how companies operate, grow, and compete, and it’s doing so at a speed that’s forcing us to reframe what’s possible.

Today, AI-related capital spending accounts for roughly 0.7% of US GDP [1]. In our view, that’s not a trend, it’s a structural shift. It reflects the surge of investment flowing into infrastructure, compute power, and energy to fuel a new generation of productivity and performance. However, capital investment alone is insufficient to generate lasting value; the true drivers of value are effective leadership, disciplined execution, and an organizational culture that embraces continuous innovation.

That’s why we hosted Pacharbor Capital Group’s first AI Innovation Day on September 23rd. Daniel Ducic, one of our US investment professionals, curated 16 founder-led AI companies, and we brought together more than 340 portfolio company executives for a demo day on what’s working, what’s next, and how to move forward with concrete value.

This event connected our leaders with the right set of practical innovations and use cases to accelerate AI adoption in their businesses - now.

From Curiosity to Capability

We designed AI Innovation Day with one belief in mind: transformation starts with exposure to the art of the possible. With so much noise in the market, it’s hard to separate potential from hype. So, we curated a set of early-stage AI companies that have shown measurable impact in real enterprise environments, from finance and HR to software development and cybersecurity.

The demos were grounded in performance, showing how companies are boosting margins, reducing time to insight, and improving the experience for both customers and employees. AI Innovation Day also included educational segments focused on enterprise adoption, governance, and next-gen trends.

What made the day powerful wasn’t just the content, it was the mindset shift. Leaders left with ideas, relationships, and connections to drive momentum.

AI Evolution

AI has rapidly evolved from being a tool you prompt to a system you can trust. But there is a next frontier emerging: agentic AI. Systems with Agentic AI reason, plan, and act independently. These are tools that move beyond assisting with tasks to fully owning workflows. They surface insights and they take action.

This shift demands a different level of creative thinking about the art of the possible. We are being asked to go beyond optimization to reimagination. Here’s how I’m thinking about it:

  • From Efficiency to Transformation

Traditional AI speeds up the way things are done. Agentic AI rethinks what gets done. This opens new possibilities in how we structure work, make decisions, and serve customers.

  • New Definitions of Work

As machines take on more execution, human value shifts to oversight, creativity, and strategy. This requires an elevation of our approach, focused on building new skills and new roles.

  • Governance Must Keep Up

When AI systems act, they need guardrails. Data integrity, explainability, and ethical use are central to any scaled AI strategy.

Generating Scalable Value

Our Global Technology & Solutions (GTS) and Global Portfolio Solutions teams partner closely with investment and portfolio leaders to identify where AI can drive real returns, focused on outcomes. Typically, our work starts with lean pilots to test value and adoption before scaling.

This is a fundamentally different approach from traditional enterprise software rollouts. We have leaned into Agile innovation to deliver faster, more iterative, and measurable ROI value creation. Across the portfolio, we’ve already seen teams improve cycle times, unlock insights, and reduce costs through AI-powered automation. We’re just getting started.

What We Learned from AI Innovation Day

We walked away with four clear takeaways for investors and executives:

  • AI Agents Are Already Embedded

We’re beyond theory. AI agents are live in finance, operations, customer service, and more—and they’re delivering.

  • Adoption is Democratizing

With the rise of low-code and no-code interfaces, non-technical teams can now own and deploy AI tools. This marks a shift in power and potential.

  • Markets Are Being Disrupted from the Bottom Up

AI-native startups are redefining entire categories. If incumbents don’t move, they risk getting outpaced.

  • Start Small. Scale What Works

The path to impact isn’t a moonshot, it’s a series of disciplined, incremental wins. Compound gains come from clear use cases with real results.

Leading With Impact and Responsibility

The more autonomous AI becomes, the more governance matters. This is the paradox of progress we’ve seen in previous technology transformation waves: the same intelligence that drives performance can also create risk, if left unchecked. Approaches to AI development, deployment, and use must be grounded in responsible use. AI enables us to lead with business value and accountability.

Ultimately, success doesn’t come from deploying tools; it comes from embracing bold ideas, engaging people’s imagination, and redefining operating models, processes, and platforms to create change that drives business impact.

Looking Ahead

Artificial intelligence isn’t something to experiment with; it’s something to embrace, integrate, and leverage to drive business transformation. It is already reshaping how we all work, serve customers, and invest. As we plan for 2026 and beyond, we should stop asking “Where can AI make us faster?” and start asking “Which workflows can be transformed?”

AI won’t replace leadership. But it will increasingly manage the friction layers that slow teams down. As leaders, our job is to build the conditions for engagement, creativity, and adoption while also creating the culture, guardrails, and incentives that turn curiosity into capability.

We’re focused on putting AI into action across Pacharbor Capital Group. We’re not chasing shiny objects, we’re building strategic muscle. And we’re doing it the Pacharbor Capital Group way: by sharing insights, building connections, and empowering our portfolio companies to drive value that lasts.
